About Sissel
Sissel H. Jore is a Professor in Risk Management and Societal Safety at the University of Stavanger (UiS), Norway. In the 2023/2024 she is a visiting professor at the Edith Cowan University in Australia. Her main research topics are terrorism, counterterrorism, hybrid threats and security risk management. Jore has developed and taught several university courses on the topic of terrorism and security. Jore has been a member of the Norwegian defense commission. She is the post-chair of
the Security Defence Speciality Group in Society for Risk Analysis- International, and she was an elected board member of the Nordic Society for Risk Analysis. Additionally, she has previously been the Head of the Security-Technical Committees of European Safety and Reliability Association. She has been a member of the Program Committee of SAMRISK in the Norwegian research council and a member of the Committee on research strategy for extremism and terrorism research, Norwegian Research Council.
