About Saira

Saira Ali is a Senior Lecturer in Media at the University of Adelaide. Her current program of research focuses on mediatisation of risk and the construction of security narratives across diverse cultural sites. She produces quality multidisciplinary research that draws from media, social sciences, and cultural studies. She regularly publishes in leading international journals and has authored books with Routledge and Oxford University Press. Her research trajectory has been aimed at contributing to contemporary debates, generating knowledge about the impact of media on risk perception, as well as exploring how East-West security policy and practice intersect.
