Dr Primitivo III Cabanes Ragandang is a researcher and scholar specialising in youth and peacebuilding in (post) conflict. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in International, Political, and Strategic Studies from the Australian National University and a Doctorate in Sustainable Development Studies from Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology. Dr Ragandang’s research focuses on youth inclusion, and historical injustices in the Philippines. His forthcoming book with Palgrave MacMillan, Peacebuilding and Memory in the Philippines: Transgenerational Resilience, and his numerous peer-reviewed articles, such as those in Journal of Peacebuilding and Development and Peace Review: A Journal of Social Justice, highlight his contributions to the field.
In 2021, he co-edited a book on youth, peacebuilding, and sustainability, published through the Young Southeast Asia Leaders Program of the United States Mission to ASEAN. His forthcoming book chapter titled ‘Through the ballads: peace formation as remembering the past’, is published by Edinburgh University Press. His first book, Duladula ug Pakigsandurot ( Games and Interaction), has been implemented in several public schools in Northern Mindanao.
