Associate Professor Corinne Seals

AProf Corinne Seals is an academic researcher and forensic linguist interested in what close analysis of language can reveal. Her work looks at language in social and legal contexts, including how people communicate identity, meaning, and authorship. In forensic linguistics, she applies scientific linguistic methods to questions that arise in legal and investigative settings, such as speaker identification, interpreting language evidence, and analysing targeted communication. Her wider research spans sociolinguistics, multilingualism, and applied linguistics. As Associate Dean (Research), she also works to support research activity and collaboration. Her career has focused on connecting language research with practical questions in society.
