Dr. Amir Hamza Marwan works as an Assistant Professor of Journalism at the IBA Karachi, Pakistan. He earned his PhD in Journalism Studies from the University of Sheffield, UK. In his doctoral studies, he investigated the media coverage of the killing of Osama bin Laden in the Pakistani, British and American media. He has published about the coverage of different conflicts and terrorist incidents in Pakistan, including the media coverage of the fall of Kabul and terrorist attacks targeting Chinese nationals in Pakistan. His research interests include pursuing terrorism studies, war studies, conflict studies, media freedom and censorship, and health communication.
